Mrs. Ring's last Assistant Librarian of the year did a wonderful job! He caught on quickly and moved the checkout line very efficiently. Thank you again, Mrs. Ratts, for this fun opportunity to learn your job! This was a hot choice for Mrs. Ring's class to spend their YOU ROCK tickets on ALL year!

The McConnell Foundation volunteers gave the 5th graders a private tour yesterday. They learned so much about Richmond’s history!

On Friday, Mrs. Nieft's 4th-grade class wore their Tailgate For Education to show support for the PTO and their Tailgate4Education event. We heard they had a fabulous turnout!

Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Ring's classes buddied up to do a writing activity to celebrate Earth Day. Students reflected on what we currently do to help Mother Earth and what they would like to see in the future. Rocks that were painted by our RGS students last year were placed around the outside of our new mobile by the partners to help us all remember how important it is to care for our Earth.

Please talk with your student about what they would like to have for lunch on field day as their classroom teacher will be asking them and collecting a tally within the next week. Fine Arts Night was a HUGE success! Thanks Mr. Ratts and the rest of the specials team for working together to make tonight special. Congratulations to RGS, the Battle of the Books winners for 2024! In February our Kindergarten and First Grade Musicians hosted a benefit concert to raise funds and supplies for Young at Heart Senior Rescue and Lost Woods Animal Sanctuary. The RGS Community raised over $150 dollars and a carload full of supplies for EACH rescue! In March, Mrs. Flores delivered the supplies and got to visit with some of the cute beneficiaries. Miss Elliott`s students loved learning more about how agriculture affects our everyday lives and of course, interacting with the animals at their field trip to the Agriculture Expo last week!

Look at this fabulous Assistant Librarian working so diligently! Even with the barcodes giving her a hard time, she overcame them with determination! Nice job with book checkouts!!

2nd Grade wanted to extend a huge thank you to Mrs. Rett and Mrs. Flores for visiting 2nd grade as mystery readers recently. The 2nd graders were thrilled to hear their favorite stories, and felt incredibly lucky to have had them share their love of reading.
